This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Altos Tequila for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

Every great party requires three things, good food, good drinks, and good company. You know we've always got good food covered, and our friends are pretty awesome so that just leaves the drink and we've found one from Altos Tequila that is going to be perfect for sitting on the deck and sipping with friends while we cook up dinner on the grill. Have you ever had a Paloma? It's a tequila-based cocktail that is made by mixing tequila with grapefruit-flavored soda or grapefruit juice. Altos Tequila is our tequila of choice and the recipe for their Altos Crafted Paloma is amazing!

Taking a classic cocktail and making it into something even better than the original takes quality ingredients. Altos Tequila was created by Henry Besant and Dre Masso who both got their starts in the bartending industry. They wanted to create a high-quality tequila that was accessible to all tequila fans, and they did it! They partnered with Maestro Tequilero Jesús Hernandez to create Altos Tequila, a hand crafted, authentically produced, quality tequila that is made from 100% agave.

Altos Tequila took the classic Paloma to the next level with the rich, smooth flavor of their tequila and fresh ingredients. You start by rimming a glass in a slight spicy mix of pink peppercorns and salt. Then you add agave nectar, lemon juice, and Altos Plata Tequila. Mix them together until the agave nectar is dissolved then add ice and fresh grapefruit juice. Garnish with a slice of grapefruit (we even threw in a sprig of basil!) and you have a beautiful drink with amazing flavors that is going to keep the party going all summer long!

Frost the glass rim with salt and crushed pink peppercorns. Pour all the ingredients except the grapefruit juice into the glass. Mix using the ALTOS molinillo to dissolve the agave syrup. Fill the glass with ice and finish with the pink grapefruit juice. Garnish with half slice of pink grapefruit.
